Safety Culture

Electrical Safety begins with a qualified technician who has a thorough knowledge of your electrical distribution system.  Taking the extra time to plan work, access risks, and mitigate possible dangers pays off by keeping workers safe, whole, and healthy.  Blackmon Power can help assess your electrical system's safety by performing a detailed arc flash analysis or by providing arc flash and NFPA 70E electrical safety training to your team

Safety Training

Blackmon Power's trainers teach arc flash and electrical safety to customers throughout the region.  Supervisors are responsible for extensive training (and documentation of that training!) of their workers.  We've developed a streamlined class to efficiently teach your workers essential knowledge, and importantly to allow them to demonstrate their skills hands-on in class for their supervisor, checking many boxes for NFPA 70E auditing requirements.

In class, workers learn about and demonstrate

  • Assessing Risk

  • Reading and Understanding Arc Flash Labels

  • Establishing Working Boundaries

  • Selecting Proper PPE

  • Inspecting PPE

  • Selecting a Meter

  • Performing a Live/Dead/Live Test

  • Lockout/Tagout
