Blackmon Power, LLC (BP), a Charlotte, NC based company and a subsidiary of Blackmon Service, Inc, has an immediate opening for a Project Engineer – Estimator. Blackmon Power provides electrical testing and maintenance services to commercial and industrial clients throughout NC and SC. We are seeking a Project Engineer - Estimator looking for a growth opportunity in a great work team servicing an established customer base.
Job Description: The primary duties of this position are to estimate electrical acceptance and maintenance projects, including but not limited to arc-flash projects, switchgear maintenance, breaker maintenance and other testing services. This person will also perform site visits to facilitate pricing, perform and coordinate arc-flash data gathering, work closely with the Blackmon Power project manager to coordinate scheduling, review testing reports, and help oversee commissioning services projects. This person may sometimes be required to work in the field to support some projects. This is a full-time position.
The successful candidate for this position should be a self-starter, work well independently and in a team, have good customer service skills, represent BP in a professional manner, and be able to adequately communicate in written formats and verbally. Some overtime and light travel may be required based on the needs of our customer base and emergency response.
Desired Technical Qualifications:

Understanding of electrical safety, including NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace.

Ability to interpret electrical schematics, one-lines, and wiring diagrams to understand electrical systems.

Maintain high levels of organization, attention to detail, time/task management and interpersonal skills with the ability to positively interact with various levels both within and outside the organization

NETA or NICET Certifications are a plus but not required. Other Technical Certifications, Military Training or an Associates College Degree in related field or equivalent in industry experience are preferred but not required.
Minimum Qualifications:

Must be able to legally work within the United States & provide required documentation upon hire

Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and follow company policies related to operating a company vehicle (supplied), including the Company’s Drug Free Workplace Policy

Must possess basic computer skills including the Microsoft Office Suite.

High School Diploma required
